Our current energy, water and mobility systems create tremendous value – but at a cost. Climate change, loss of biodiversity, and amplification of social inequalities are examples of those costs. While these transitions unfold, organisations operate in an increasingly complex environment with changing expectations, economic uncertainty, regulatory requirements, and technical skills shortages. A clean and just transition requires steering on more than economics: it requires steering on impact.
Navigating clean and just transitions requires a better understanding of the value created for all stakeholders involved – to be able to steer on it.
Navigating clean and just transitions is about setting goals and making trade-offs. It requires a better understanding of the value created for all stakeholders involved – to be able to steer on it. We work with organizations in the energy, water and infra sectors to build these capabilities. Examples are long-term collaborations with Alliander on impact measurement, impact journeys with network companies (Stedin, Enexis, Alliander), water utility companies (WML, Vitens) and large infrastructure companies (Port of Rotterdam, Rijkswaterstaat, Schiphol, ProRail). We advise on impact strategies, develop impact reports, collaborate on strategic value case studies, and help build coalitions. Ultimately, to enable organisations to steer on impact.
