The Impact Institute* gave an interactive workshop to a group of 50 young professionals of AkzoNobel on Integrated Impact Measurement. AkzoNobel is a Dutch multinational company which creates paints and performance coatings (35,700 employees, €9.61 billion Revenue (2017)).
A large group of young professionals was challenged to develop the business case of a business innovation and present this to an investment committee. In addition to the financial calculations, professionals were asked to include a calculation on the natural capital impact of the business case.
The workshop included a plenary presentation and separate course material for subgroups and dedicated instructors.
Benefits to the client
Participants gained experience with sustainable business case development and were exposed to methods to quantify and monetize impacts on natural and social indicators, such as climate change, water and energy extraction.
